A New Chinese Journal Database Available


Through a consortium effort (NITLE), CNKI database (中国知网) now becomes available to Oberlin users through the end of the semester. The package includes China Academic Journals Full Text Database, China Doctoral Dissertation Database and China Maters' Thesis Database. CNKI is one of the most popular Chinese databases subscribed to by many East Asian Libraries in North America.

Please use this url to access the database - http://oversea.cnki.net It supports searches in both Chinese and English languages.

Main Library carrel sign-up begins February 11

Sometimes you want to party in Mudd....sometimes you want to study. If it's studying that's on your mind, consider signing up for a study carrel, starting Saturday, February 11. Just bring your OCID to the circulation desk in the Main Library and get yourself settled.

All the carrels are numbered, so please scope out the ones you like in advance and make a note of the numbers. If someone got to your favorite first, you may have to accept a alternate. See details here.

Ntozake Shange exhibit



Renowned poet, performance artist, playwright, novelist, children’s book author, and educator Ntozake Shange will be in Oberlin February 9-11 for the world premiere of her newest choreopoem "why i had to dance." This piece is "an animated journey through time, over generations and across geography brought to life on stage." In celebration, a display of Ms. Shange's works will be on display in Mudd through February 15.
