Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy by visiting the exhibit now on display in the Academic Commons.

In addition to the information panels and images, the celebration, sponsored by the Consulate of Italy in Detroit in partnership with the Oberlin Departments of French and Italian, History, and the Conservatory of Music, includes the following events on Friday, September 23rd:

"Giuseppe Garibaldi and the Expedition of the Thousand," a presentation by Marco Nobili, Consul of Italy in Detroit, at 4:30pm in the Academic Commons


"Opera and the Unity of Italy," a lecture by John Zaretti, President of the Verdi Opera Theatre of Michigan, at 8:00pm in the Kulas Recital Hall
