Alexia Hudson-Ward Named Director of Libraries



Alexia Hudson-Ward will join the Oberlin community on July 1 as the Azariah Smith Root Director of Libraries. As director, Hudson-Ward will be responsible for the four campus libraries—Mudd Center library, the science library, the conservatory library, and the Clarence Ward Art Library—as well as special exhibits, collection development, technology integration, and space planning and utilization. Anti-Procrastination Day to the rescue!

No more excuses–NOW'S the time to  kick-start whatever it is you've been procrastinating on!  All kinds of friendly people will be at this semester's Anti-Procrastination Day event to help you get going.

DATE: Sunday, March 13, 2pm-midnight
PLACE: Mudd 052 (new Writing Center location on A-Level)

HELP STATIONS:
Writing Center:  2pm–midnight, revise & edit papers
Library:  2–10 pm, research & citation help
Career Center:  2–10 pm, resumes, cover letters, & networking
CLEAR:  8–11 pm, quantitative, mathematical & computational skills

Free cookies, snacks, and coffee from Slow Train available throughout the day for those who visit for a drop-in session.

Planned downtime for ProQuest's online products


On Saturday March 12, 2016, ProQuest will be installing critical firmware updates to its systems infrastructure. The window is scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM EDT and will last for eight (8) hours.  During this time, access to the ProQuest products listed below will not be available:
  • Research databases
  • Refworks
  • Digital Sanborn Maps
If you attempt to access these products during the downtime you'll be re-directed to a web page explaining the scheduled maintenance.  If you have questions about accessing a specific ProQuest product, contact the Main Library Research Desk.
